Southern Cross Feedlot…

Case Study

Project Overview:

A new upgrade to the feed mill required a more energy than the existing single phase SWER power line was able to provide.

The solution was to install a new diesel power station consisting of 4 x MTU 440kva diesel generators, COM-AP generator controls, and new main distribution switchboard.

The use of multiple generators which synchronise together allows the generator capacity to match the site energy demand, while operating the MTU diesel engines at their maximum efficiency. Multiple machines provide redundancy and provide greater site reliability and productivity.

The MTU engine is particularly suited to operating at low load without long term issues. Provision was made for future solar power and battery to be added.
